In August 2020 the Big Ten and Pac-12 collegiate athletic conferences voted to postpone fall sports due to the coronavirus epidemic. College administrators in the conferences cited concerns that athletes who contract even mild cases of Covid-19 may be at increased risk of developing myocarditis, an inflammation of the heart muscle that can be fatal if left untreated. Opponents of the decision argue that sports like college football are an important source of revenue for colleges and college age athletes are at a low risk of dying from the coronavirus. Opponents include President Donald Trump and some of college football’s biggest stars including Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence, Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields, Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh and Penn State head coach James Franklin.
No. We should try and end Covid ASAP and playing sports will only speed the spread.

This should be decided by sports governing agencies and local governments. Athletes and coaches should be allowed to opt out without any punishment or negative repercussions.
@8FNJMMM4yrs4Y
yes, most definitely, and the cops should not arrest people who are social distancing with their masks off in the stands.
@8FLL97Y4yrs4Y
Let each college and athlete decide, this should not be a political issue
@8FKDR9Q4yrs4Y
Why is this a political question?
@8FJNHYK4yrs4Y
Regardless, government should not regulate private college programs.
@8FHLHH64yrs4Y
If we were more responsible yes but with the way thing are going now... No
I don't pay attention to sports at all, so I have no opinion on the matter.
@8FFL9B94yrs4Y
Yes, but with strict precautions, testing, and no spectators. It also depends on the severity of the virus, as well as the intensity in that specific area.
@8FDR5VW4yrs4Y
Depends on the schools current pandemic status. Scholarship athletes should not lose eligibility or scholarship if they choose not to play
@8FDF5CZ4yrs4Y
This issue is not important to me
@8FBTXRJ4yrs4Y
This doesn't concern my vote
@8FC2FM24yrs4Y
Yes, but let the athlete decide and enforce testing.
@8F9TNTC4yrs4Y
If the school is publicly funded then it is up the the government and its citizens to decide but if its a privately funded school they have the final desicion on if they want to play or not.
@Twintransit20204yrs4Y
Yes, with precautions to keep everyone safe, including masks, social distancing, testing, etc.
@antbl194yrs4Y
Yes, but it should be up to the respective sport leagues.
@8F8VBJJConstitution4yrs4Y
No, but that's not a political issue so much as it is a college issue that could be highly dependent on region or state.
@8F8H43C4yrs4Y
@8F7MV6C4yrs4Y
yes, but very strict and limited
@8F76G4P4yrs4Y
I don't think they should be, but that's a personal opinion. The government should not be the yes or no here. It's up the individual states and schools.
@8F5M98T4yrs4Y
this has nothing to do with voting
@8F5KSGP4yrs4Y
I do not care as long as the players are safe
@8F4QJJP4yrs4Y
If there has been a major decrease in COVID-19 infections and deaths, then yes. If not, then no.
@8F4QFK64yrs4Y
the virus is completely political now and theres no reason for all this chimping out. so yes
@8F3LRZQ4yrs4Y
Yes, as long as all athletes and staff members are tested regularly, and proper safety protocols are followed. Audiences should not be allowed for the time being.
@8F25NT24yrs4Y
Sports with the lowest risk of transmission such as tennis, golf, and cross country should be allowed to compete this fall.
@8F248PD4yrs4Y
The government should not be involved in this
@8F22YKS4yrs4Y
@8DYYV9P4yrs4Y
I couldn't care either way
@8DYPP7Z4yrs4Y
Each college and athlete should decide. Also, precautions should be in place to keep the staff and players safe. No spectators until it’s safe to gather in large groups.
This should be up to the conferences and schools; the government should not be involved.
@8DY8Q344yrs4Y
Yes, as long as there are strict precautions, testing, no spectators, and consent of the athletes, schools, and coaches
@8DXZLDCLibertarian4yrs4Y
yes, each college/ athlete should be able to decide if they are comfortable playing but other clubs like the fine arts should be able to do what they do as well.
Not if it is medically unsafe based on research
@8DWW22Z4yrs4Y
Not if my 7 year old can’t sit in a classroom for 6 hours a day 5 days a week!!
Yes, but take necessary precautions such as providing sanitary instruments and limiting crowdedness.
@8DSRM6F4yrs4Y
I could care less. Sports should stay out of politics.
@8DSCD9W4yrs4Y
Yes, but pay college athletes and let them decide whether they want to play
@8DS6W6JIndependent4yrs4Y
Yes, but with strict precautions, testing and limited seating and specatators.
@8DRZ2344yrs4Y
@8DR8VBN4yrs4Y
Yes but limit the capacity of fans in the stadiums.
@8DRD6VK4yrs4Y
Leave this decision to each individual state.
@8DRBG6C4yrs4Y
@8DQXTMFIndependent4yrs4Y
I don't really care so long as the athletes are healthy and they want to compete
@8DQFS4Z4yrs4Y
end for-profit college sports
@8DPWM634yrs4Y
Either way, all sports and schools should follow the same protocol without benefiting a singular sport.
@8DPD3CN4yrs4Y
Most sports involve some sort of physical contact which would only increase the spread of the virus.
It depends and should be left up to the players and coaches of each individual school.
